I am Mukesh Kumar Mahato, a Nature photographer and filmmaker capturing the essence of rural life, nature, wildlife, and insects. My journey in nature photography began in childhood, inspired by the landscapes of my village, Khududih, in Purulia, West Bengal. In 2019, I started capturing macro photographs with my mobile camera, drawn to the intricate beauty of small insects, plants, and nature’s hidden details.

In 2023-24, I completed the Green Hub Fellowship, where I specialized in documentary filmmaking, including camera work, editing, and storytelling. During this time, I collaborated with the HEAL organization to create a film on human-elephant conflict and worked with the ATREE Institute on a documentary about the Mahua flowerhow to make it food grade.

I am working as a Technical Assistant at Green Hub Central India, contributing to conservation storytelling and filmmaking, further deepening my engagement with visual storytelling and environmental awareness.

I have recently started working as a freelance camera person and editor with Kalabagh Films.
